M Train – Web – Week 1: Reflection

This week, we wireframed and worked towards a new iteration of our personal websites.

I have already made a lot of different versions of my personal website and have struggled to find a good balance between something clean and simple but not too corporate in appearance.

I really like websites and designs that use a limited color palette, emphasize images, use text for navigation, and have large heading typography.

Content & Wireframes

From my content map, I decided to focus on the three orange sections for my wireframes.

The homepage has a featured projects slideshow that I animated using the setInterval method.

While I think this design looks clean and works as an archival directory of projects I’ve worked on, I don’t think it embodies the right aesthetic that I think matches my art practice.
