L Train: CODE: Designer using OpenFrameworks

CODE: A designer who uses code in his work

Inspiration

Inspired by the interaction that takes place between design and coding, I looked up the work of Zachary Lieberman (founder of OpenFrameworks). In one of his first projects, he worked with Toyota to prepare a font.

It is called the Toyota iQ font, using the name of the car Toyota iQ.

I liked the way how the design connected with a real-life working of the car. Based on the colored nodes on the top of the car, OpenFrameworks could read the movement and draw a pattern, eventually leading to a character set creation.

Moreover, the idea of creating a typeface using a car is very innovative. I am interested to learn more about the way the connectivity between the software and the real world works.
