Ellis Island Review-Yang, Yao-Chang

I really enjoyed this field trip and spent much longer there than I thought. Being not familiar with the history of immigration in the U.S., the audio guide offered a lot of information. The audio guide makes a perfect match for the exhibition. There are a lot of documents, photos, and poster that were preserved well and they really help me to understand what kind of experience the immigrants been through.

Listening to and reading the immigrants’ stories, I was really inspired by the courage they have back in those days. Nowadays we can easily travel around the world and foreign countries aren’t that unfamiliar. It really takes courage to take such a long way to the U.S. to pursue a better life.
